Dr. RAJA DHAR

Dr. Raja Dhar is a highly experienced Pulmonologist, Critical Care Specialist, and Interventional Pulmonologist based in Kolkata. He currently serves as Director & Head of the Department of Pulmonology at The Calcutta Medical Research Institute (CMRI), New Alipore, Kolkata. He has more than 27 years of experience in respiratory medicine, critical care, and interventional pulmonology.

Dr. Dhar specializes in the diagnosis and management of complex respiratory conditions, including asthma, COPD, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary fibrosis, pulmonary hypertension, sleep disorders, lung infections including tuberculosis, lung cancer, and respiratory emergencies. His special expertise includes advanced interventional pulmonology procedures such as bronchoscopy, medical thoracoscopy, electrocautery, APC, cryotherapy, and airway stent placement.

He completed his MBBS and MD in Respiratory Medicine from the University of Calcutta and has obtained international qualifications including FRCP (London), FCCP (USA), CCT in Respiratory & General Medicine (UK), and an MSc in Evidence-Based Medicine (UK).

Dr. Raja Dhar has previously worked as a consultant pulmonologist at leading hospitals in Kolkata, including Fortis Hospital, Anandapur, and has been associated with CMRI in senior clinical and leadership roles. He is also involved in medical research, teaching, and academic activities in respiratory medicine.
