The 3M Littmann Classic III Stethoscope is a diagnostic instrument designed for acoustic auscultation. It features a tunable diaphragm on a dual-sided, stainless steel chestpiece, allowing for the detection of both high and low-frequency sounds by adjusting pressure. The chestpiece can be used in open bell mode or closed bell mode with the inclusion of a non-chill bell sleeve for enhanced patient comfort.
The binaural construction consists of a single lumen, and the headset is designed for comfortable, anatomically correct placement in the ear canal. This model is presented with an all-black aesthetic, encompassing the chestpiece, tubing, and headset components.
