The 3M Littmann Classic III Stethoscope is a diagnostic instrument designed for acoustic assessment. It features a double-sided chestpiece constructed from machined stainless steel, offering durability and precision. The tunable diaphragm technology allows for the auscultation of both high and low-frequency sounds; applying light pressure to the diaphragm facilitates the detection of low frequencies, while firmer pressure enables the identification of high frequencies.

This dual-sided capability is enhanced by a pediatric side that can be converted into a traditional open bell by replacing the diaphragm with a non-chill sleeve, providing versatility in its application. The stethoscope utilizes single-lumen tubing, engineered for improved acoustic transmission and the detection of normal and abnormal bodily sounds and rhythms. The tubing material is designed for extended longevity, exhibiting resistance to skin oils and alcohol, and is manufactured without natural rubber latex or phthalate plasticizers, contributing to user and environmental safety.

The headset is adjustable to accommodate individual user comfort and fit. This model is presented with a Burgundy colored tube and a Champagne finish on the chestpiece. Included with the stethoscope are an additional set of soft-sealing ear-tips and a non-chill sleeve.
