Mole D capsule is an anti-reflux medicine. It is used to treat gastrointestinal reflux disease (GERD). It contains a combination of domperidone and omeprazole.
This capsule is used when the body does not respond to omeprazole therapy alone. Gastrointestinal reflux disease, or GERD, is a condition in which acid from the stomach rises to the food pipe. This backflow of acid irritates the lining of the food pipe and leads to chest pain and heartburn.
This medicine should be taken as directed by the doctor and in doses and duration as prescribed. Take this capsule at least 30 minutes before food. Do not miss any dose or take it more often than prescribed by your doctor.
Other capsules with domperidone and omeprazole include Ocid D Hg , Ocid D Sus , Omizor Dm , Omezil D and Novacid D . Along with taking medicine on time, making certain lifestyle modifications can help to manage your acidity problem better. Try eating smaller meals, eating slowly, avoiding overeating and lying down immediately after having a meal.
Limit your intake of alcohol, avoid smoking and maintain a healthy weight; consult the doctor to understand what works best for you. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding about all the medicines and supplements you take and all the conditions or diseases you suffer from before starting the Mole D capsule.
Symptoms of overdose are dizziness, nausea, headache, confusion, agitation, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, altered consciousness, disorientation, sleepiness and tremors. If you experience any of the symptoms or think you have taken too much of Mole D capsule, then contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.
If you missed any dose of medicine, then take it as soon as you remember. If it's time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose of medicine to compensate for the missed one.
It should be taken as a whole with a sufficient amount of water, preferably in the morning before food.
There is limited safety information available on the use of Molecule D capsules in pregnancy. Hence, this medicine should be used only as prescribed by your doctor.
A small amount of Mole D capsule components pass into breast milk. Your doctor may prescribe you this medicine while you are breastfeeding, but only if it is necessary. Inform your doctor if you are a nursing mother.
If you experience headache, dizziness, drowsiness and visual disturbances, it is advised not to drive or use machines.
No interaction between alcohol and Pantoprazole has been reported. However, alcohol is known to increase acidity and can make your acidity worse.
Talk to your doctor if
To be taken on an empty stomach. There are no known interactions with food or beverages. However, nicotine, caffeine (coffee, tea, chocolate and cola) and alcohol can stimulate stomach acid or delay ulcer healing and hinder the treatment process.
Mole D capsule is used to treat GERD (Gastrointestinal reflux disease), not responding to omeprazole alone. It helps in relieving symptoms such as heartburn or acidity.
Yes, both cause an increase in acidity. Smoking also relaxes a valve present between the food pipe and the stomach. This leads to stomach acid coming back upwards in the food pipe. This worsens reflux/ GERD disorders.
Mole D capsule contains Omeprazole (a proton pump inhibitor that reduces stomach acid) and Domperidone (a prokinetic that improves stomach emptying and prevents reflux).
It should be taken before meals, usually in the morning, or as directed by your doctor. Swallow the capsule whole with water. Do not crush or chew it.
Some patients may experience headache, dizziness, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, or dry mouth. These side effects are usually mild and go away once the treatment stops.
People with severe liver disease, heart rhythm disorders (QT prolongation), or intestinal bleeding should avoid Mole D unless advised by a doctor.
Yes, it may interact with certain medicines like antifungals, antibiotics, anticoagulants, and antidepressants. Always inform your doctor about all medicines you are taking.
