Algat 0.3% Eye Drops contain gatifloxacin, an antibiotic indicated for the treatment of bacterial eye infections, such as bacterial conjunctivitis. Gatifloxacin functions by inhibiting specific enzymes essential for bacterial DNA replication, thereby preventing bacterial growth and leading to their eradication.
This medication is intended for external ophthalmic use only. Adherence to the prescribed dosage and completion of the full treatment course are crucial, even if symptoms improve, to ensure complete resolution of the infection and minimize the risk of recurrence or antibiotic resistance. Patients should remove contact lenses prior to application and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting them.
It is important to inform a healthcare professional about any pre-existing eye conditions or other medical history before initiating treatment with Algat 0.3% Eye Drops.
