Amtas AT tablet is a blood pressure-lowering medicine. It is used to manage high blood pressure and angina pectoris. Angina pectoris is a condition characterized by chest pain, tightness and squeezing in the chest radiating towards the shoulders, arms and neck.
Amtas AT tablet contains a combination of amlodipine and atenolol as active substances. It lowers the blood pressure, heart rate and contractility of heart muscles. Patients with kidney and liver function problems and the elderly should be very cautious while taking this medicine.
Take this medicine in the exact dose and duration as prescribed by your doctor. Do not take more than the recommended dose. Do not stop taking this medicine on your own.
Before starting Amtas AT tablet, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, plan on becoming pregnant or breastfeeding and about your complete medical history. Also, inform about all the medicines and supplements you take.
Do not take Amtas AT tablet if you are pregnant or planning for a pregnancy. If you get pregnant while taking this medicine, inform your doctor immediately.
It is advised not to breastfeed during the treatment with Amtas AT tablet.
Amtas AT tablet may cause dizziness and sleepiness. If you experience any of these effects after taking this medicine that may affect your ability to drive safely, it is advised to avoid driving.
Avoid consuming alcohol when you are taking Amtas AT tablet as it is known to cause low blood pressure when taken along with this medicine.

Symptoms of an overdose of Amtas AT tablet include laziness, wheezing, uneven heart rhythm, slow heartbeats, low blood pressure, constriction of airways, and a drop in blood sugar levels. Seek immediate medical help in case of an overdose.
You need to take Amtas AT tablet for as long as recommended by your doctor. Do not stop taking this medicine on your own. If required, your doctor will gradually decrease the dose of this medicine.
Some people may experience a few common side effects like sleepiness, dizziness, headache, and swelling in the ankles after taking Amtas AT tablet. These side effects are generally mild and tend to go away with time. However, if these effects persist or worsen, talk to your doctor.
It takes approximately 1 hour for Amtas AT tablet to start showing its blood pressure lowering effects. However, this can vary among individuals depending on their physiology and metabolism.
Amtas AT tablet is used for the management of high blood pressure and heart-related disorders such as chest pain (angina pectoris).
Angina is a pain or discomfort felt in your chest when part of your heart does not get enough blood due to decreased blood flow. It may feel like pressure, squeezing, or heaviness in your chest.
You should take Amtas AT tablet exactly as recommended by your doctor. It can be taken at any time of the day with or without food. However, taking this medicine around the same time every day is recommended for optimum results.
