Anticof Expectorant is a cough and cold medicine. It is used to reduce cough associated with thick sputum. It also reduces runny or stuffy nose, sneezing, watery eyes, and congestion.
Anticof Expectorant is a combination medicine containing diphenhydramine, ammonium chloride, and sodium citrate as active substances. If you experience drowsiness after taking this medicine, do not drive vehicles or operate machinery for 4 to 6 hours after taking the last dose. Talk to your doctor if coughing persists for more than 4 days or if you have any medical condition, or are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Before starting the treatment with Anticof Expectorant, inform the doctor about your detailed medical history. Shake well before use. According to the advisory issued by the Union Health Ministry, cough and cold medications should not be prescribed or dispensed to children under two years of age.
These medications are generally not recommended for children under five years old. For children above that age, any use should be based on careful clinical evaluation and close supervision.
In case of an overdose of Anticof Expectorant, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.
If you missed any dose of Anticof Expectorant, take it as soon as you remember it. If it’s time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose of medicine to compensate for the missed one.
If you are pregnant or think you may be or are planning for a baby, you should consult your doctor before starting Anticof Expectorant.
Components of Anticof Expectorant passes into breast milk thus consult your doctor before using it while breastfeeding.
Anticof Expectorant may cause blurring of vision and drowsiness as a side effect. It is advisable to avoid driving, operating heavy machinery or any activity that needs alertness or clear vision during the treatment.
You should not consume alcohol while taking Anticof Expectorant as it may worsen the side effects of this medicine.
