Aqmen - AM4255 - Sutures AM4255 AqGut Catgut Type USP 2-0-12 Foils

The Aqmen AM4255 is a sterile, absorbable surgical suture designed for tissue approximation. This product is composed of purified serosal collagen derived from ovine (sheep) intestines, treated to produce chromic catgut. The chromic treatment enhances its tensile strength retention and prolongs absorption time compared to plain catgut.

Each suture is pre-attached to a 30 mm, 1/2 circle, heavy cutting needle, facilitating precise placement during surgical procedures. The suture material is classified as USP 2-0, indicating its diameter and strength according to United States Pharmacopeia standards. The total length of each suture strand is 76 cm.

This packaging contains 12 individual foil-wrapped units, ensuring sterility until the point of use. The absorbable nature of this suture means it is gradually broken down by the body's enzymatic processes over time, eliminating the need for removal and reducing the risk of suture-related complications in certain applications. The estimated duration of wound support provided by this suture is approximately 21 days, after which its tensile strength diminishes significantly.
