Azarga Bottle Of 5ml Eye Drops

Azarga bottle of 5 ml eye drop is a prescription medication that contains a mixture of medications to treat ocular hypertension (high blood pressure in the eyes) and glaucoma. It contains brinzolamide and timolol. It works by lowering the elevated eye pressure by lowering the pressure of fluid in the eye (aqueous humour).

Although Azarga eye drops improve the management of glaucoma, it does not heal it completely. Azarga eye drops is available on doctor's prescription. It dose and duration of treatment is recommended by a doctor.

This eye drop is not recommended in children and adolescents below 18 years. Also, this eye drops is not recommended in patients with allergy to certain medicines or if they are suffering from heart, kidney, or lung problems. After opening, azarga eye drops can be used only for four weeks after which, you need to discard the remaining medicine and buy a new one.

Dosage

Overdose

Overdose may result in a slower heart rate, low blood pressure, heart failure, and difficulties in breathing. Contact your doctor or reach out to the nearest hospital immediately, in case of overdose.

Missed a Dose

Follow on with the next dose as scheduled. To make up for a missed dose, do not take a double dose.

Interactions with other medicines

• CYP3A4 inhibitors such as ketoconazole, itraconazole, clotrimazole, ritonavir, and troleandomycin stop CYP3A4 enzyme from breaking down brinzolamide
• When an ophthalmic beta-blocker solution is used in conjunction with oral calcium channel blockers, beta-adrenergic blocking agents, antiarrhythmics (including amiodarone), digitalis glycosides, parasympathomimetic, and guanethidine, there is a risk of adverse effects like low blood pressure and heart rate
• The contents of azarga eye drops can reduce the effect of adrenaline
• Combined treatment with CYP2D6 inhibitors (e.g. quinidine, fluoxetine, paroxetine) and timolol cause a reduction heart rate or depression
• Concomitant use of antidiabetic medicine reduces the blood sugar-lowering effect of antidiabetics
• Concomitant use of adrenaline can cause dilated pupils

Storage and disposal

• Keep this medication out of children's sight and reach
• After the expiry date, which is printed on the bottle and carton after EXP, do not use this medication
• To avoid infections, discard the bottle four weeks after it was first opened and replace it with a fresh one
• Do not dispose of medications in the wastewater or household waste
