Azimed tablet contains azithromycin, an antibiotic indicated for the treatment of various bacterial infections. These include respiratory tract infections such as pneumonia, as well as infections of the sinuses, ears, throat, lungs, and skin. It is also used to treat certain sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including gonorrhoea and chlamydia.
The active ingredient, azithromycin, functions by inhibiting the growth of bacteria responsible for the infection. Adherence to the prescribed dosage and full course of treatment is necessary to ensure complete eradication of the infection and to mitigate the risk of antibiotic resistance development.
