Azimed tablet contains azithromycin, an antibiotic indicated for the treatment of various bacterial infections. These include respiratory tract infections such as pneumonia, as well as infections of the sinuses, ears, throat, lungs, and skin. It is also used to treat certain sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including gonorrhoea and chlamydia.
The active ingredient, azithromycin, functions by inhibiting the growth of bacteria responsible for the infection.
