Brufix Dry Syrup contains Cefixime, an antibiotic classified within the Cephalosporin family. This medication is prescribed for the treatment of various bacterial infections, including those affecting the throat, lungs, ear, urinary tract, and skin. Its mechanism of action involves disrupting the formation of the bacterial cell wall, which is essential for bacterial survival and replication.
This disruption ultimately leads to the death of the susceptible bacterial organisms responsible for the infection. Brufix Dry Syrup is intended exclusively for pediatric patients and should not be administered to individuals above 18 years of age. Prior to administration, the powder must be reconstituted by dissolving it in sterile water, following the specific instructions provided with the product, and then shaking the mixture well.
The reconstituted syrup should be administered to the child precisely as directed by a healthcare professional, ensuring the full prescribed duration of treatment is completed. Potential side effects include diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and gas. Should these side effects persist or if the child's condition worsens, immediate medical consultation is advised.
If you have missed to give any dose of Brufix Dry Syrup then give it as soon as you remember. If it's already time for the next dose then skip the missed dose and follow the regular dosing schedule.
