Clavituf tablet is a combination medication containing amoxicillin and clavulanic acid, both classified as antibiotics. It is indicated for the treatment of various bacterial infections, including those affecting the lungs, airways, ears, urinary tract, skin, bones, joints, soft tissue, and teeth. Patients should inform their physician of any known allergies to antibiotics, current pregnancy status, plans for pregnancy, or if breastfeeding, prior to commencing treatment.
A complete medical history should also be provided. The medication should be taken as prescribed by a healthcare professional for the full duration of treatment. It is generally advised to take Clavituf tablet with meals to minimize gastrointestinal upset.
Completing the entire course of treatment is crucial to prevent treatment failure and reduce the risk of re-infection.
Symptoms of an overdose may include stomach disturbances, vomiting, diarrhea, drowsiness, and fluid retention. In case of suspected overdose, immediate medical attention should be sought.
Missing antibiotic doses can lead to treatment failure. If a dose of Clavituf tablet is missed, it should be taken as soon as remembered. If it is near the time for the next scheduled dose, the missed dose should be skipped, and the regular dosing schedule resumed. A double dose should not be taken to compensate for a missed dose.
Clavituf tablet is generally not recommended during pregnancy unless considered essential by a physician. Consultation with a doctor is advised before taking any medication during pregnancy.
Components of Clavituf tablet pass into breast milk and may cause fungal infections of the mouth and diarrhea in the infant. Breastfeeding is generally not recommended during treatment with this medication.
Clavituf tablet may cause dizziness, fits, and allergic reactions, which can impair the ability to drive or operate machinery.
Alcohol consumption during treatment with Clavituf tablet may exacerbate side effects such as dizziness and fits.
Consult a doctor if any of the following conditions apply:
Yes, diarrhoea is a common side effect of Clavituf tablet. However, contact your doctor immediately if you experience diarrhoea with blood and mucus, along with stomach pain and fever. It can be a sign of inflammation of the large intestine.
Clavituf tablet can start showing its effect approximately 1 hour after consumption. However, it varies among individuals and can also vary due to an individual's physiology and the severity of the infection. As it is an antibiotic medicine, the complete effect towards the infection can be seen after you complete the course of antibiotic treatment.
The exact frequency of consumption of Clavituf tablet depends upon your infection or disease. Your doctor will decide this after assessing the problem. Take this medicine as advised by your doctor. Please refrain from self-medicating with antibiotics and do not take them in excess or less than the recommended dose.
