The SenSura Extended Wear Light Convex Baseplate is a component of a two-piece ostomy management system. This baseplate is designed to be adhered to the skin surrounding the stoma and connects to a separate ostomy pouch. Its light convex shape is engineered to apply gentle pressure to the peristomal skin, which can assist in managing stomas that are flush with the skin, retracted, or located in uneven skin contours, potentially aiding in stoma protrusion and reducing the likelihood of leakage.

The baseplate features a mechanical coupling system designed for secure attachment of the ostomy pouch. This coupling mechanism provides an audible confirmation, often described as a "click," to indicate that the pouch is properly and securely fastened to the baseplate. The design allows for rotation of the pouch relative to the baseplate before it is locked, offering flexibility in positioning the pouch for comfort and discretion.

The adhesive utilized is a double-layer SenSura technology, comprising a protection layer that acts as a barrier against stoma output and a skin care layer that absorbs moisture, aiming to maintain the health of the peristomal skin. This baseplate is available in a 60mm size, referring to the diameter of the opening for the stoma, and is suitable for users with colostomy or urostomy. It also includes belt ears for optional use with an ostomy belt, providing additional security and support.
