Cyramza solution for infusion contains ramucirumab, a monoclonal antibody used in the treatment of various advanced cancers. It is indicated for advanced gastric or gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma, metastatic colorectal cancer, metastatic non-small cell lung cancer, and hepatocellular carcinoma. Ramucirumab functions by inhibiting vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGFR-2), thereby impeding the formation of new blood vessels that supply tumors.
This medication can be administered as a monotherapy or in combination with other antineoplastic agents, depending on the specific cancer type and treatment regimen. Ramucirumab is a cancer medication that blocks a protein called VEGFR-2. This protein helps tumours grow by stimulating the formation of new blood vessels. By blocking VEGFR-2, Ramucirumab can slow down tumour growth and prevent the spread of cancer.
