The Datt Silvel is a multi-layered antimicrobial barrier dressing designed for wound management. This dressing is constructed with three distinct layers to provide a protective and healing environment. The wound contact layer is composed of 100% cotton, chosen for its absorbency and gentle interaction with the wound bed.

The middle layer is made of viscose, contributing to the overall absorbency and fluid management capabilities of the dressing. The outer layer is a polyethylene net, which serves to provide structural integrity and prevent adherence to the wound, facilitating easier and less disruptive dressing changes. The presence of nanocrystalline silver integrated into the dressing provides a sustained antimicrobial action, creating a barrier against a broad spectrum of microorganisms.

This sustained release mechanism is crucial for maintaining an effective antimicrobial presence at the wound site over an extended period, contributing to a more favorable healing environment. The dressing is gamma sterilized to ensure product safety and sterility for clinical use.
