Overview

Deecee Forte tablet is a combination medicine used in the treatment of various parasitic infections. It also helps in relieving allergic symptoms like rashes, swelling, itching and watering from eyes associated with the disease. It contains two active components namely diethylcarbamazine and chlorpheniramine maleate that belongs to different classes of medicines called antiparasitic and antihistaminic respectively.

Usage Instructions

Directions for Use

Take medicine as a whole with a sufficient amount of water.
Do not break or chew the medicine.

If you are taking it once a day, then always take this medicine at the same time like in the early morning before breakfast. Even after improvement of symptoms continue taking this medicine for the period your doctor has prescribed to control the symptoms and as preventive measures.

Other General Warnings

Talk to your doctor if

You are having any kind of underlying medical condition like liver or kidney problems, heart disorders, hypertension, fits, respiratory problem, etc.
You experience any allergic reactions after taking this medicine, especially at the initial phase.
You are having glaucoma (increased pressure in the eye).
You are having an enlarged prostate or difficulty in passing urine.
Do not use it continuously for more than 14 days without consulting your doctor.

Overdose

An overdose of this medicine may increase the chances of side effects such as nausea, dizziness, headache and sometimes coma too. If you think you have taken too much of this medicine, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.

Missed a Dose

If you forget a dose, take it as soon as you remember it. However, if it is nearly time for the next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose. Do not stop taking this medicine without the doctor’s advice, as this may result in a flare-up of symptoms.

How Does It Work?

The parasite also has its metabolic process, growth and multiplication. Diethylcarbamazine alters the metabolic process in the filarial cells, which makes them more prone to get killed by the human defence system. Thus it helps in killing the parasite and eradicate the infection.
The killing of filarial cells releases certain chemicals (histamine), which produces allergic symptoms like skin redness, itching, swelling and watering from the eyes. Chlorpheniramine Maleate is an antihistaminic medicine, which blocks the effect of histamine and relieves the allergic symptoms associated with it.
