This is a mercurial sphygmomanometer designed for the auscultatory measurement of blood pressure. The device utilizes a column of 99.99% pure mercury contained within a calibrated glass tube to indicate pressure levels.
The pressure display ranges from 10 to 300 mm Hg, with a resolution of 2 mm Hg, allowing for detailed readings. The measurement method involves manual inflation and deflation of a cuff using a rubber bulb and a control valve, in conjunction with a stethoscope for listening to Korotkoff sounds. The accuracy of pressure measurement is rated at +/- 3 mm Hg.
The included cuff measures 14.5 cm by 51 cm, suitable for a range of arm circumferences, and features a secure Velcro fastening system. The bladder and inflation bulb are constructed from durable, tested rubber materials.
All exposed metal components are plated to resist corrosion, contributing to the longevity and functional integrity of the instrument. The stand model is constructed from CRCA white metal sheet, featuring a wide base for stability and a height adjustable to standard hospital bed levels. Smooth-rolling caster wheels are integrated for ease of repositioning.
