Diphase Sp Tablet belongs to the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicine class of medications (NSAID). It is a diclofenac, paracetamol, and serratiopeptidase fixed-dose combination. Diphase Sp Tablets are used to relieve pain and inflammation caused by a bone or soft tissue injury, as well as to relieve postoperative inflammation, oedema (swollen tissue filled with fluid), and pain.
Diclofenac works by inhibiting the function of cyclo-oxygenase (COX), an enzyme that produces pain and swelling in wounded or damaged tissue. Diclofenac's pain-relieving effect is enhanced by paracetamol, which serves as a mild analgesic (pain reliever) and antipyretic (fever reducer). Serratiopeptidase is an enzyme that aids in the breakdown of a protein called fibrin that forms as a by-product of clotted blood at the injury site.
As a result, the fluids surrounding the injury thin out, allowing fluid drainage easier in the swollen tissue. To avoid an upset stomach, take Diphase Sp Tablet with food. To relieve stomach irritation, your doctor may prescribe antacids in addition to this medication.
The majority of negative effects of Diphase Sp Tablets do not require medical treatment and fade away over time. Nausea, vomiting, indigestion, and stomach discomfort are common adverse effects. Consult your doctor if the negative effects do not go away.
An overdose of Diphase Sp Tablets can initiate symptoms like diarrhoea, dizziness, drowsiness, headache, nausea and vomiting (sometimes with blood), blurred vision (common), numbness and tingling, stomach pain (with possible bleeding in the stomach and intestines), oedema (swelling in the body or legs), and wheezing. Please contact your nearest medical facility in case of emergency. Treatment of Diphase Sp Tablets overdose includes a combination of medicines and administration of fluids through a vein. Your doctor may advise treatment with activated charcoal and laxatives.
If you have missed a dose of Diphase Sp Tablet, take it as soon as you can. However, if the next scheduled dose of Diphase Sp Tablet is approaching, continue with the regular schedule and skip the missed dose.
Diphase Sp Tablet is a pain reliever that combines three medications: diclofenac, paracetamol, and serratiopeptidase. Diclofenac acts by inhibiting the chemical action of cyclo-oxygenase (COX), an enzyme that creates prostaglandins (pain and inflammation mediators), which are responsible for the sensation of pain and inflammation at the sites of injury and damage. Paracetamol inhibits the production of a natural substance called prostaglandin, which causes pain, inflammation, and fever. In cases of fever, paracetamol has an antipyretic action and can lower body temperature. Paracetamol acts by resetting the brain's temperature-regulating centre, lowering fever temperature. Serratiopeptidase helps to reduce pain and inflammation by preventing the release of chemical messengers that produce pain and fever. It reduces arthritic pain and inflammation by increasing antibiotic penetration and microcirculation at the injury site. Serratiopeptidase helps break down the insoluble protein (fibrin) by-product of blood clotting into smaller pieces. It also promotes thinning of the body's fluids as a result of damage, enabling fluid outflow easier in swollen tissue. These medicines work together to relieve pain and inflammation while also speeding up the healing process.
