This product is a sterile, absorbable, synthetic monofilament suture composed of polyglecaprone 25. It is designed for approximation of soft tissues where tissue support is not required for an extended period. The suture is dyed undyed, allowing for clear visualization during surgical procedures.

Its monofilament structure minimizes tissue drag and reduces the risk of bacterial proliferation compared to braided materials. The suture is indicated for use in general soft tissue approximation and ligation, including ophthalmic surgery, but excluding cardiovascular and neurological tissues. It is intended for single use only.

The suture is supplied pre-attached to a needle for immediate use. The needle is a 60mm straight reverse cutting KS needle, designed for efficient tissue penetration and precise placement. The suture itself measures 70cm in length and has a diameter corresponding to USP 3-0.

The absorption profile of this suture is predictable, with complete absorption occurring between 91 and 119 days post-implantation through hydrolysis. Tensile strength retention is approximately 50% to 60% at 7 days and 20% to 30% at 14 days, indicating a gradual loss of strength as tissue healing progresses. This suture is suitable for use by trained medical professionals in various surgical settings.

It is packaged in foils for sterility maintenance. Proper handling and sterile technique are essential during its use to prevent infection and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
