This product is a sterile, synthetic, absorbable monofilament surgical suture, specifically PDS II, USP 1 in size. The suture is constructed from polydioxanone polymer, a material designed for prolonged tensile strength retention in tissue. It is supplied pre-attached to a 36mm, 1/2 circle taper cut V-34 needle.
The suture material is violet in color and has a length of 90cm. The PDS II suture is designed to be gradually absorbed by hydrolysis over a period of approximately 180 to 210 days, with significant tensile strength maintained for an extended duration within this absorption window. The taper cut needle design features a gradually tapering body, facilitating penetration through dense tissues with reduced trauma.
The V-34 designation specifies the needle's curvature. Each unit contains 24 individually foil-packaged sutures.
