Ethicon PDS II Sutures USP 6-0, 3/8 Circle Prime Multipass - Z489H -36 Foils

This product is a sterile, synthetic, absorbable monofilament suture composed of polydioxanone polymer. It is designed for use in surgical procedures where tissue support is required for an extended period. The suture is undyed and has a diameter corresponding to USP size 6-0.

It is supplied with a specific needle configuration for optimal tissue passage and secure knot tying. The material undergoes hydrolysis in biological tissues, leading to gradual absorption over time. The absorption profile indicates that the suture will be substantially absorbed within 180 to 210 days post-implantation.

The tensile strength retention characteristics are important for its functional duration, with approximately 70% of initial strength remaining at two weeks, 50% at four weeks, and 25% at six weeks. The suture is presented in individual foil envelopes to maintain sterility until the point of use. Each foil contains a precisely measured length of 45cm of suture material attached to an 11mm, 3/8 circle Prime Multipass P-1 needle.
