Finax tablet is used only in men in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). This is a condition in men where the prostate gland is enlarged, making it difficult to pass urine. Finax tablet is also used for the treatment of male pattern hair loss.
It contains finasteride as its active component. This medicine should only be used by men who are above 18 years of age. Women, children, and adolescents should not use this tablet.
Take this medicine as directed by the doctor and in doses and duration as prescribed. It can be taken with or without food. Before using this medicine, inform the doctor about your detailed medical history.
If you think you have taken too much of Finax tablet, then contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.
In case you've missed any dose of the Finax tablet, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose. Avoid taking a double dose to compensate for the missed one.
Finax tablet blocks the action of an enzyme called 5-alpha-reductase that converts testosterone to another hormone (DHT). This hormone is responsible for hair loss and enlarged prostate in men. Thus, blocking the hormone slows hair loss, helps hair regrow, and prevents prostate enlargement.
Finax tablet is meant for use only in men and should not be taken by women.
Finax tablet does not affect your ability to drive. If you experience any side effects after taking this medicine that may affect your ability to drive safely, it is suggested to avoid driving.
There is no known interaction between alcohol and Finax tablet. Ask your doctor for advice on the use of alcohol with Finax tablet.
