Flumet soap is a medicated product formulated with fluconazole, an antifungal agent. It is specifically indicated for the treatment and prevention of various fungal infections affecting the skin, such as ringworm, jock itch, athlete's foot, and certain yeast infections. Fluconazole, the active ingredient, functions by inhibiting the synthesis of vital chemical components within fungal cells.
This action disrupts the fungal cell membrane, leading to the inhibition of fungal growth and ultimately preventing the proliferation of the infection. This medicated soap is intended for external use only and must not be ingested. It is not designed for routine daily hygiene and should only be used when a fungal infection is present or as advised by a healthcare professional.
Due to the contagious nature of fungal infections, sharing this soap is not recommended to prevent potential transmission. Patients who are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or currently breastfeeding should seek medical advice before using Flumet soap.
Excessive use of Flumet soap may result in a burning sensation, redness of the skin or swelling. If you experience symptoms after the application of the soap, contact the doctor.
Since it is a medicated soap the missed application does not have much significance. Avoid missing application of the soap for best results and easy recovery from infection.
