Fluxum injection is an anticoagulant used to prevent blood clots from forming in the body. The medication prevents clot formation and prevents the risk of stroke, angina and myocardial infarction. It is also beneficial in deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism and acute coronary syndrome.
This medication can only be given by a doctor in a controlled and monitored setting. Do not try to self-inject.
Overdosing is unlikely to occur; it can cause result in severe bleeding. Hence monitoring of INR ratio is essential. The medication can also cause bleeding from the nose, urine, and stool; symptomatic treatment and antidote are required for overdosing conditions.
It is highly unlikely to miss the dose, as your doctor and medical staff will give it, and you will be under constant monitoring.
Parnaparin is low molecular weight heparin. The medication activates the anti-thrombin, which inactivates the coagulation enzymes such as factor Xa and IXA. This results in the prevention of blood clots.

Alcohol consumption with this injection can result in severe bleeding in the stomach and adverse effects on the liver. Hence it is contraindicated to consume alcohol. However, the medication is only given to hospital admitted patients where alcohol consumption is banned.
