Freelex Tablet contains bisacodyl as its active ingredient. It is helpful in improving bowel function and provides relief from constipation. It acts as a stool softener by drawing water into the intestine and helps in making the hard stools into soft and easily passable stools.
It is also sometimes used before surgeries or operations to empty the bowel. Freelex has laxative properties and it works by making your stool soft and improving the bowel movement in the intestine. Along with the medication, a high-fibrous diet can be more effective.
It should not be used by a patient suffering from any inflammatory conditions of the intestine or stomach, any infection in the digestive tract, appendicitis or dehydration. Before your doctor gives you this medicine, tell them if you are taking or have taken any medicines, supplements or herbal preparations.
An overdose of Freelex Tablet may result in diarrhoea, abdominal cramps, dehydration and an electrolyte imbalance. In case you have taken too much of this medicine, reach out to the nearest hospital or contact your doctor.
If you have missed taking any dose of Freelex Tablet, take it as soon as you remember. If it's time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose of this medicine to compensate for the missed one.
