Gentin Mc Tablet is a medication containing gabapentin and methylcobalamin. It is prescribed for the treatment of neuropathic pain, a type of pain caused by damage or dysfunction of the nervous system. Gabapentin works by modulating the activity of specific receptors in the brain, which helps to reduce the release of neurotransmitters involved in pain signaling, thereby alleviating the sensation of pain.
Methylcobalamin, a coenzyme form of vitamin B12, plays a crucial role in the health and function of nerve cells. It supports the synthesis of myelin, the protective sheath around nerves, and promotes the regeneration of damaged nerve fibers. The combined action of these two active ingredients aims to reduce the intensity of neuropathic pain and support the recovery of nerve function.
This medication is used to address conditions where nerve damage leads to chronic pain sensations, such as burning, tingling, or shooting pain.
An overdose causes double vision, slurred speech, drowsiness, laziness or sometimes diarrhoea. Consult the doctor if you experience such symptoms or visit the nearest hospital.
If you have missed taking a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it's time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with the regular dosing schedule. Avoid taking a double dose to compensate for the missed one.
Methylcobalamin is a form of vitamin B12 which helps in the formation of nerve cells and regeneration of damaged nerves in the brain. The exact mechanism of how gabapentin works are not known. It acts on specific receptors in the brain and reduces the release of chemicals in the brain responsible for the sensation of pain.
Take as directed by the doctor. Swallow as a whole with a glass of water. It would be best if you take it at the same time every day for optimal results and avoid consuming it more than prescribed by the doctor.

You may develop dizziness, drowsiness or sometimes depression after taking this medicine. Avoid driving or operating machinery, during the initial days of treatment.
Avoid consuming alcohol during treatment with Gentin Mc Tablet. It may worsen the side effects.

It is associated with nerve damage due to surgery or trauma, viral infections, cancer, vascular malformations and diabetes. It may be a side effect of certain medications.
