Glz Xr Tablet contains gliclazide, a medication used to manage type 2 diabetes in adults when diet and exercise alone are insufficient. Type 2 diabetes occurs when the body either does not produce enough insulin or cannot effectively utilise the insulin it produces, leading to high blood sugar levels. While taking Glz Xr Tablet, your doctor will recommend lifestyle changes, such as a healthy diet, regular exercise, and limiting alcohol consumption.
Before starting this medication, inform your doctor about any existing liver, kidney, or hormonal issues, genetic disorders, or nutritional deficiencies. Glz Xr Tablet is not suitable for type 1 diabetes. A common side effect is low blood sugar (hypoglycaemia), which can cause sweating, shakiness, and weakness.
Carry a sugary snack with you to treat low blood sugar if it occurs. Other common side effects include headaches, dizziness, and constipation. Inform your doctor about any plans for pregnancy or if you are breastfeeding.

You should never miss the blood sugar medicines. If you missed a dose of Glz Xr Tablet, take it as soon as you remember. If it's time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with the regular dose schedule. Avoid taking a double dose to compensate for the missed one.
The pancreas has beta cells that are responsible for the production of insulin. Gliclazide in Glz Xr Tablet increases those beta cells, thus producing more insulin, hence helps in lowering the blood sugar.
Glz Xr Tablet must be taken as directed by the doctor. Take with a glass of water, do not cut, break or chew the medicine. Take it at a fixed time for optimal results and must not consume it more than that prescribed by the doctor.
