Halostrol Cream contains halobetasol, a corticosteroid also known as ulobetasol. This medication is indicated for the topical management of inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, and psoriasis. Its primary action is to mitigate symptoms including pruritus, erythema, edema, and irritation.
Halobetasol functions by inhibiting the synthesis of specific endogenous chemical mediators responsible for eliciting inflammatory responses. This cream is intended solely for external application. Adherence to prescribed application guidelines is crucial.
Hands should be washed thoroughly before and after use, unless the hands themselves are the treatment area. A thin layer of the cream should be applied to intact skin, avoiding areas with cuts or wounds. Direct contact with the eyes and eyelids must be prevented.
In the event of ocular exposure, immediate rinsing with clean water is necessary. Potential adverse effects at the application site may include a burning sensation, itching, irritation, or pain.
As Halostrol Cream is meant for external application, cases of overdose are unlikely. However, upon accidental ingestion, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital. If you have applied extra quantities of it, wipe out the excess of the medicine with tissue or cotton.
If you have missed to apply Halostrol Cream, apply it as soon as possible. Do not overapply this medicine just to compensate for the missed dose.
