PD Synth is suitable for cases where extended wound support and strength are required for rectus sheath closure or fascia closure. Absorption of this suture is through simple hydrolysis. It retains about 70% of the initial tensile strength after 2 weeks, 50% after 4 weeks, 25% after 6 weeks and is absorbed in the tissue within 180 to 210 days from the time of implantation.
