Lify Oz Tablets is an antibiotic medicine. Lify Oz Tablets is used for the treatment of diarrhoea caused by mixed organisms in adults. It is a combination medicine containing levofloxacin and ornidazole as its active ingredients.

It works by inhibiting the growth of infection-causing organisms, thus prevents the spread of infection. Take it in the prescribed dose and for the prescribed duration and never miss or skip a dose. Do not stop taking this medicine, always complete the entire course of treatment with antibiotic medicine.

Incomplete treatment may result in treatment failure and increase the risk of re-infection. You can take this medicine with or without food. Lify Oz Tablets should not be taken by children below 18 years of age.

Talk to your doctor if

• You feel any type of strain or pain on tendons (tendinitis) and joints, immediately stop this medicine, do not move the joint much and inform your doctor immediately.
• You experience continuous or bloody diarrhoea.
• You have diabetes. Close glucose monitoring is required.
• You had a stroke or any brain injury.
• You have myasthenia gravis (muscle weakness).
• You experience suicidal thoughts, immediately inform your doctor.
• You experience fits or have a history of fits.
• You feel restlessness, lightheadedness, confusion or hallucinations.
• You have developed any allergic reactions after taking this medicine.
• You have any problems with your liver or kidney.
• You have any type of heart problems like heart attack, very slow heart rate and salt imbalance.
• You have glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency (an inherited disorder that affects red blood cells).
• Your age is 60 years or above.

Contraindications

• If you are allergic to levofloxacin, ornidazole or any other ingredients of the Lify Oz Tablets .
• If you are allergic to fluoroquinolone or Nitroimidazole class of medicines.
• If you have a history of fits (epilepsy).
• If you have problems related to the tendon (tissue connecting muscles to bones) like inflammation and swelling of the tendons (tendonitis) due to treatment with any ‘quinolone antibiotic’ like ciprofloxacin, norfloxacin, etc.
• If you are below the age of 18.
• If you are pregnant, planning to have a baby or are breastfeeding.

• Medicines used to treat pain and inflammation (NSAID's) can increase the chance of fits.
• Medicines used to treat acidity (antacids) like Sucralfate, antacids containing calcium and magnesium should not be taken two hours before or after the Lify Oz Tablets .
