Lidesc Spray is a local anaesthetic used to lessen pain and prevent reflex gagging during minor dental treatments, after childbirth, and during medical examinations involving the insertion of viewing tools in the nose, throat, stomach, or lungs. Lidesc Spray contains lidocaine/lignocaine as its active ingredient. This medication will be administered to you by a doctor or nurse in a hospital or clinic setting.
Do not use it independently. Lidesc Spray must not be sprayed in the eyes. If it comes into contact with your eyes, rinse them immediately with clean water.
Before using Lidesc Spray, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, breastfeeding, or have any medical history. Also, disclose all medicines and supplements you are taking.
Lidesc Spray works by blocking the spreading of pain signals along the nerve fibers. This helps to reduce the sensation of pain.
There is limited information on the effect of Lidesc Spray in pregnant women. Therefore, this medicine should only be used during pregnancy if recommended by the doctor.
Lidesc Spray may pass into human breast milk. Thus, this medicine should only be used in breastfeeding women if recommended by the doctor.
