Macroid tablet is a combination medicine that contains diosmin and hesperidin as its main active ingredients. It is a flavonoid-based medicine used to improve vein tone and circulation. It is used to treat conditions like haemorrhoids (piles) and varicose veins, which are both caused by swollen and twisted veins.
By improving the blood flow in these veins, Macroid helps to restore their proper function and can relieve symptoms such as pain, itching, and swelling. You should take Macroid tablet exactly as your doctor has prescribed, and for the full duration they have recommended. This medicine is intended for short-term use.
You can take it with or after a meal for better absorption and results. If you happen to miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it's almost time for your next scheduled dose, you should skip the missed one and continue with your regular schedule.
Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one. While you are taking Macroid, it is also important to make certain lifestyle changes to help manage your condition. Try to eat a diet rich in fibre, and drink plenty of water to avoid constipation.
Avoid sitting on the toilet for too long to avoid straining during bowel movements. You can also find relief from pain by taking warm baths, and it is recommended to avoid wearing tight clothing. If your symptoms don't improve after 15 days of taking Macroid, you should consult your doctor.
Also, if you experience any serious side effects like continuous abdominal pain or an abnormal heart rhythm, you should seek immediate medical attention. Remember to inform your doctor about all the medicines, supplements, or herbal products you are currently taking to avoid any potential interactions.
In case of an overdose, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.
Missing a dose of Macroid Tablet may reduce the effectiveness of the treatment. If you forget a dose, take it as soon as you remember it. However, if it is nearly time for the next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.
Macroid Tablets increase the tone of venous blood vessels and increase resistance in small blood vessels and protect the veins. It also improves venous circulation which helps in reducing pain and swelling associated with haemorrhoids and other venous circulatory disorders. Hesperidin is a flavonoid that, along with Diosmin helps in improving symptoms of disturbed venous circulation like haemorrhoids and varicose veins.
There is limited information about the effects of Macroid Tablet in human pregnancy. You should consult your doctor if you are pregnant or think you may be or are planning for a baby before starting this medicine.
There is limited information about the effect of Macroid Tablet on breastmilk. Hence, you should not breastfeed while taking this medicine. You should consult your doctor before using this medicine during breastfeeding.
There is limited information about the effects of Macroid Tablet on driving. If you do not feel well or are unable to be alert, you should avoid driving.
It is advisable not to consume alcohol while on treatment with Macroid Tablet as alcohol itself can worsen the condition of haemorrhoids.
