Marcogesic is a prescribed medicine that comes in the form of oil. The oil has anti-inflammatory properties and belongs to the nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medicine family. It is non-narcotic.
Usually, the oil will not get people high. Marcogesic Oil is used for relief from joint pains and other orthopaedic conditions. The side effects of Marcogesic Oil are similar to other anti-inflammatory medicines, which can have adverse effects on kidneys, heart, and other organs.
Acute renal failure, vomiting, sleepiness, and leukocytosis are the common overdose symptoms of Marcogesic oil. If you think you've had an overdose, go to the nearest emergency department and seek medical care.
If you forget to consume a dose, take it as soon as you recall, without overlapping or taking additional doses to make up for it.
Marcogesic oil works by blocking the enzyme Cyclooxygenase, which helps produce prostaglandins. Prostaglandins are a crucial player in the aggressive and pain-sensing processes in the body. The impact usually lasts for around 2-3 hours after medicine consumption. Because potassium-based medications are quicker to absorb in the stomach, they generally start working within 10-15 minutes after being taken.
Do not take medicine during the last three months of pregnancy since it may cause damage to your baby. The usage of this medicine may also result in a reduction in labour onset (premature delivery). In addition, pregnant women should avoid taking this medicine since it can impair the developmental growth of their babies.
No. Breastfeeding mothers should avoid this medicine since traces of the medication are transferred via breast milk.
No. Some people may have adverse effects such as blurred vision, tiredness, or nausea, limiting their ability to drive. Avoid driving or operating a motor vehicle while consuming Marcogesic Oil.
No. Do not use the medicine with alcohol since it may interact and lead to adverse effects, including dizziness, exhaustion, weakness, and severe gastrointestinal bleeding.
