These infections can affect various body systems and are caused by susceptible bacteria. Adherence to the full prescribed course of treatment is essential; incomplete courses or missed doses can lead to the development of antibiotic resistance, potentially reducing the effectiveness of future treatments. Before initiating therapy, patients must disclose any history of epilepsy, pre-existing liver or kidney conditions, or known allergies to antibiotics to their physician.
During the course of treatment, monitoring through blood tests may be necessary to assess blood cell counts and kidney function.
