Metocard Amt tablet is a combination medicine used to help control high blood pressure. High blood pressure often does not cause noticeable symptoms, but over time it can damage your heart, brain, kidneys, and blood vessels. This medicine is usually prescribed when a single medicine is not enough to manage your blood pressure effectively.
By keeping your blood pressure within a healthy range, Metocard Amt tablet helps lower the risk of heart attack, stroke, and other serious complications. Metocard Amt tablet works by combining three medicines: Metoprolol Tartrate, Amlodipine, and Telmisartan, which act in different ways to reduce blood pressure. They help improve blood circulation and reduce the strain on your heart, providing better and more stable blood pressure control.
You should take Metocard Amt tablet exactly as advised by your doctor. It is usually taken once daily at the same time each day to help you remember. Swallow whole with water, with or without food.
Do not crush or chew it. It is important to continue taking this medicine regularly, even if you start feeling well, as high blood pressure often has no symptoms. If you have any doubts about how to take it, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Most side effects of Metocard Amt tablet are mild and may go away as your body adjusts to the medicine. You may experience dizziness, headache, tiredness, back pain, sore throat, sinus discomfort, or diarrhea. Some people may also notice mild swelling in the ankles or feet.
If any side effect persists, becomes severe, or worries you, it is important to speak with your doctor for further guidance.
Taking more than the prescribed dose may cause very low blood pressure, slow heartbeat, dizziness, or fainting. If you suspect an overdose, seek medical help immediately.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one. Do not take two doses at the same time to make up for a missed dose.
Metocard Amt tablet is generally not recommended during pregnancy as it may affect the unborn baby. If you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, inform your doctor. Your doctor will suggest a safer alternative if needed.
Some ingredients of Metocard Amt tablet may pass into breast milk and could affect your baby. Always consult your doctor before using Metocard Amt tablet if you are breastfeeding.
Metocard Amt tablet may cause dizziness, tiredness, or lightheadedness in some people, especially at the beginning of treatment. If you experience these symptoms, avoid driving or operating machinery until you feel better.
Alcohol can increase the blood pressure–lowering effect of Metocard Amt tablet and may make you feel more dizzy or lightheaded. It is best to limit or avoid alcohol while taking this medicine.
