Metpure XL 50 mg tablet is used to treat high blood pressure and various other heart-related conditions such as angina (chest pain) and heart failure, thus reducing further complications. It contains metoprolol as an active ingredient. Metoprolol in Metpure XL 50 mg tablet lowers the raised blood pressure and also has its action specific to the heart muscles.

It acts by relaxing the blood vessels, thereby reducing the load on the heart and decreasing the blood pressure. Seloken XL 50 tablet , Starpress XL 50 tablet , Metocard XL 50 tablet , Prolomet XL 50 tablet and Revolo XL 50 tablet are some other medicines containing metoprolol.
