Metrogyl injection is used to treat bacterial infections of the liver, brain, stomach, intestines, bone, heart, vagina, skin. It is also used to prevent an infection before, during or after an operation. Metrogyl injection contains metronidazole as its active ingredient.
Metronidazole belongs to an antibiotic group of medicines. It is used in patients when oral medications are not possible. This medicine will be given to you in a hospital or clinic by a doctor or nurse as an injection.
You should avoid self-injecting. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding and about your detailed medical history, before starting Metrogyl injection.
