Mofetyl-S 360 Tablet is an immunosuppressant medicine that helps prevent the body from rejecting a transplanted organ, such as a kidney, heart, or liver. It contains mycophenolate mofetil, which works by reducing the activity of the immune system so that it does not attack the new organ. This medicine is an important part of post-transplant care and helps ensure the long-term success of the transplant.
Your doctor will prescribe Mofetyl-S 360 Tablet as part of a combination therapy with other immunosuppressive medicines. It should be taken exactly as directed, usually on an empty stomach for best results. Do not stop or change the dose on your own, as doing so may increase the risk of transplant rejection.
While taking Mofetyl-S 360 Tablet, you may experience some mild side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or stomach pain. In some cases, it can lower your ability to fight infections, so it’s important to inform your doctor if you develop a fever, sore throat, or any signs of infection. Regular monitoring and follow-up with your doctor are necessary during treatment.
Avoid exposure to people with infections, and take proper precautions to maintain good hygiene. Women who are pregnant or planning to conceive should not take Mofetyl-S 360 Tablet, as it may harm the unborn baby. Use effective contraception during and after treatment as advised by your doctor.
Mofetyl-S 360 Tablet plays a vital role in helping transplant patients lead healthier lives by preventing organ rejection. Always follow your doctor’s instructions, take your medication regularly, and attend scheduled medical appointments to ensure your treatment works effectively and safely.
If you have missed to take any dose of this medicine, then take it as soon as you remember. If it's already time for the next dose, then skip the missed dose and follow the regular dosing schedule.
When our body encounters a foreign substance (bacteria, virus, fungus, transplanted organs or grafts), the immune system attacks it to protect the body. Normally this defence mechanism helps us, but in cases of organ transplant, the transplanted organ is also identified as a foreign body by our immunity and is attacked by it. Mofetyl S Tablet is given to such patients as it suppresses the immune response and prevents rejection of a kidney, liver or heart transplant or graft.
Do not take Mofetyl S Tablet if you are pregnant or planning to get pregnant as it will harm the developing baby and can even cause miscarriage. Discuss with your doctor about effective methods of contraception to be followed while taking this medicine.
You should not breastfeed your baby if you are taking Mofetyl S Tablet as it may harm the baby. You should discuss about safer alternatives with your doctor in case breastfeeding has to be continued.
Mofetyl S Tablet may affect your driving ability moderately. Do not drive if you feel less alert, unstable or confused.
Alcohol is not known to interact with this medicine. However, if you consume alcohol too often, discuss it with your doctor.
