Mycofit-S 360 Tablet is a prescription medicine used to prevent the rejection of a newly transplanted organ, such as a kidney, heart, or liver. It contains mycophenolate mofetil, which works by suppressing the immune system. Reducing the immune response helps your body accept the transplanted organ and improves its chances of long-term function.
This medicine is typically administered in conjunction with other immunosuppressive drugs as part of a comprehensive post-transplant care regimen. Taking Mycofit-S 360 Tablet exactly as prescribed by your doctor is essential for effective protection of the transplanted organ. Never change the dose or stop the medication without consulting your doctor, as this may increase the risk of organ rejection.
Mycofit-S 360 Tablet is typically taken orally, with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole with water. Taking the medicine at the same time each day helps maintain consistent levels in your body and ensures maximum effectiveness.
Your doctor will determine the correct dose based on your weight, the type of transplant, and other medications you may be taking. While taking Mycofit-S 360 Tablet, you may be at increased risk of infections because your immune system is suppressed. It is essential to practice good hygiene, avoid contact with individuals who have infections, and promptly report any fever, chills, or unusual symptoms to your doctor.
Regular follow-ups and blood tests may be necessary to monitor your response and detect any side effects. Common side effects of Mycofit-S 360 Tablet may include nausea, diarrhoea, vomiting, or stomach upset. Serious side effects are rare but may include severe infections, low white blood cell counts, or anaemia.
Always inform your doctor about your complete medical history, including any other medications you are taking and any known allergies, before starting this medication. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should only take this medication under strict medical supervision.
If you have missed to take any dose of this medicine, then take it as soon as you remember. If it's already time for the next dose, then skip the missed dose and follow the regular dosing schedule.
When our body encounters a foreign substance (bacteria, virus, fungus, transplanted organs or grafts), the immune system attacks it to protect the body. Normally this defence mechanism helps us, but in cases of organ transplant, the transplanted organ is also identified as a foreign body by our immunity and is attacked by it. Mycofit S Tablet is given to such patients as it suppresses the immune response and prevents rejection of a kidney, liver or heart transplant or graft.
