This medicine is also used to relieve symptoms associated with the overproduction of some specific hormones and other related substances by the stomach, bowels or pancreas. It is also used to treat neuroendocrine tumours located in the gut (appendix, small intestine or colon) and pituitary tumours that produce too much thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH).
