Neosporin ointment is a topical antibiotic. It is used to treat and prevent superficial bacterial skin infections such as accidental cuts, scratches, minor burns, injuries, wounds and wound stitches. Neosporin ointment contains a combination of polymyxin B, bacitracin and neomycin as active substances.
