Niftas Tablet is an antibiotic used to treat and prevent uncomplicated urinary tract infections caused by infection-causing bacteria. A urinary tract infection is a common condition that occurs when microbes enter the urethra and is characterised by a burning sensation or pain while urinating. Niftas Tablet contains nitrofurantoin as its active ingredient.
It works by killing the bacteria that cause the infection. You should always complete the course of treatment, as incomplete treatment may lead to resistance and reduce the effectiveness of future treatments.
An overdose of the Niftas Tablet may cause nausea, vomiting and gastric irritation. If you think you have taken too much of this medicine contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.
If you have missed taking any dose of the Niftas Tablet, take it as soon as you remember it. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dose schedule. Do not take a double dose of medicine to compensate for the missed one.
Niftas Tablets consist of nitrofurantoin which works by killing the growth of bacteria that causes infection.
Niftas Tablets should not be used during pregnancy unless prescribed by your doctor. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, think you may be pregnant or planning a pregnancy, while on this medicine.
Inform your doctor before using the Niftas Tablet if you are a breastfeeding woman. The treating doctor may suggest you either discontinue the breastfeeding or this medicine, after assessing the need and benefit.
Niftas Tablet may cause drowsiness and dizziness, thus it is advised to avoid or be cautious while driving.
You should avoid consuming alcohol while taking the Niftas Tablet.

You need to continue taking this medicine until advised by your doctor. If you stop taking it before completing the treatment, it may increase the risk of recurrence of infection.
