Nixide Tablet contains nitazoxanide as the active ingredient. It is an anti-worm medicine, which is used for the treatment of diarrhoea in patients suffering from an infection due to G lamblia or C parvum worms. This medicine is not effective when used for the same infections in HIV infected patients or people with weak immunity.
Nixide acts by inhibiting the growth of this infection-causing organism, thus preventing the further spread of infection. Take this medicine as advised by your doctor for the prescribed duration. Complete the course of this medicine, even if you start feeling better after starting the treatment with the Nixide.
If you have taken too much of this medicine then contact your doctor or reach out to the nearest hospital immediately.
If you have missed taking any dose of this medicine then take it as soon as you remember. If it's already time for the next dose then skip the missed dose and follow the regular dosing schedule.
Nixide Tablet contains nitazoxanide acts by interfering with the enzyme responsible for energy metabolism and growth of the infection causing parasites in the body, thus preventing the spread of infection.
Take this medicine as a whole with sufficient water as prescribed by your doctor.
Limited information is available on safety regarding the use of the Nixide Tablet during pregnancy. Do not take this medicine if you are pregnant unless prescribed by your doctor.
You should avoid taking Nixide if you are a nursing mother. Consult your doctor about its safety and precautions.
Nixide Tablet can make you feel dizzy and drowsy. Thus, it is advised to avoid or be cautious while driving.
Alcohol is not known to interact with this medicine. However, you should avoid using alcohol as it can delay the healing or decrease the body's response to infection/injury.

Along with Nixide, try to follow the prescription advised by your doctor and learn about the recommended diet and hydration. You should take an easily digestible diet in small, frequent portions. Make it least oily n least spicy. Fluid loss due to diarrhoea and vomiting should be maintained by a good intake of water and electrolytes. WHO ORS can be taken for rehydration.
You should take Nixide exactly as told by the doctor. But to avoid stomach discomfort you can consume it with food.
