Olvo Or Tablet is an antibiotic medicine. Olvo Or Tablet is used for the treatment of diarrhoea caused by mixed organisms in adults. It is a combination medicine containing levofloxacin and ornidazole as its active ingredients.

It works by inhibiting the growth of infection-causing organisms, thus prevents the spread of infection. Take it in the prescribed dose and for the prescribed duration and never miss or skip a dose. Do not stop taking this medicine, always complete the entire course of treatment with antibiotic medicine.

Incomplete treatment may result in treatment failure and increase the risk of re-infection. You can take this medicine with or without food. Olvo Or Tablet should not be taken by children below 18 years of age.

• You experience continuous or bloody diarrhoea.
• You have diabetes. Close glucose monitoring is required.
• You had a stroke or any brain injury.
• You have myasthenia gravis (muscle weakness).
• You experience suicidal thoughts, immediately inform your doctor.
• You experience fits or have a history of fits.
• You feel restlessness, lightheadedness, confusion or hallucinations.
• You have developed any allergic reactions after taking this medicine.
• You have any problems with your liver or kidney.
• You have any type of heart problems like heart attack, very slow heart rate and salt imbalance.
• You have glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency (an inherited disorder that affects red blood cells).
• Your age is 60 years or above.

Contraindications

• If you are allergic to levofloxacin, ornidazole or any other ingredients of the Olvo Or Tablet.
• If you are allergic to fluoroquinolone or Nitroimidazole class of medicines.
• If you have a history of fits (epilepsy).
• If you have problems related to the tendon (tissue connecting muscles to bones) like inflammation and swelling of the tendons (tendonitis) due to treatment with any ‘quinolone antibiotic’ like ciprofloxacin, norfloxacin, etc.
• If you are below the age of 18.
• If you are pregnant, planning to have a baby or are breastfeeding.
