Ondero Met Tablet is an anti-diabetic medicine. It is used for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Ondero Met Tablet is a combination medicine containing linagliptin and metformin as its active components.
Type 2 diabetes is a health condition in which your cells don’t respond normally to insulin. Insulin is a hormone that regulates how your body utilises sugar. This leads to increased blood sugar that can further lead to serious health conditions.
This medicine works by increasing insulin production and restoring the natural response of the body to insulin. This not only controls your blood sugar levels but also reduces the risk of other health conditions associated with increased blood sugar. Ondero Met Tablet should be taken in correct doses and for the exact duration as prescribed by your doctor.
Avoid missing a dose or consuming it more than the prescribed dose. While taking this medicine, it is essential to make certain lifestyle modifications such as consuming a healthy and balanced diet, staying active, quitting smoking and regularly checking your blood sugar. This may help to manage your diabetes and improve your health.
Symptoms of overdose may lead to lactic acidosis (symptoms include stomach discomfort, decreased appetite, diarrhoea, fast or shallow breathing, weakness, etc.). If you think you have taken too much of this medicine, seek medical care immediately.
If you have missed taking a dose of the Ondero Met Tablet, take it as soon as you remember. If it's time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with the regular dose schedule. Avoid taking a double dose to compensate for the missed one.
There is little information about its safety during pregnancy. Consult a doctor if you are pregnant or may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby before starting the medicine.
You should avoid taking this medicine while breastfeeding as the components of this medicine are known to pass into the breastmilk. Consult the doctor before using medication during breastfeeding.
Avoid excessive consumption of alcohol while taking Ondero Met Tablet. Alcohol lowers blood sugar which can be dangerous and also increases the risk of a serious condition called lactic acidosis.
Talk to your doctor if
