Pilzban cream is used to treat common skin infections, such as athlete’s foot, ringworm, jock itch, and tinea versicolor (a skin condition that causes discoloured patches). This cream contains an antifungal medicine called oxiconazole. This cream is intended for use on the skin only.
Use Pilzban cream once or twice a day on the affected area and a little around it. For tinea versicolor, once a day is enough. Continue using it every day, even if the skin looks better, and don't stop early.
This cream is intended for external use only and should be applied to clean, dry, and intact skin, avoiding cuts, wounds, and irritated areas. Hands should be washed before and after application, unless they are in the treatment area. In the event of accidental eye contact, rinse the affected area immediately with clean water.
If you have missed the application deadline for Pilzban cream, please apply as soon as possible. Do not overapply this medicine to compensate for the missed application.
As Pilzban cream is meant for external application, cases of overdose are unlikely. However, if accidental ingestion occurs, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital. If you have applied extra quantities of it, then wipe out the excess medicine with a tissue or cotton.
Oxiconazole is an antifungal medicine that works by damaging the outer layer of the fungus. It stops the fungus from making a substance it needs to build its protective cell wall. Without this layer, the fungus becomes weak, breaks apart, and eventually dies. This helps clear up the infection on your skin.
Pilzban cream should only be used during pregnancy if prescribed by a doctor. If prescribed, avoid using it on larger skin areas for an extended period.
Because oxiconazole may be excreted in human milk, avoid it if you are a breastfeeding mother. Use Pilzban cream while breastfeeding only if prescribed by the doctor. Avoid applying it to the breast or surrounding areas to prevent ingestion by the infant. Limit its use to small areas and avoid prolonged use.
Pilzban cream is a topical medicine and may not affect the driving ability or ability to handle machinery.
No information is available on interactions of this medicine when taken with alcohol. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for further information.
