Premeal Tablet is an anti-diabetic medication. It is used to lower blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes along with diet and exercise. Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a condition where your pancreas does not make enough insulin to control your blood sugar levels and your body is unable to efficiently use its own insulin.
This causes high blood sugar levels in your body, which can cause certain medical problems like heart diseases. Premeal Tablet contains repaglinide as the active substance. It works by reducing blood sugar levels and controlling type 2 diabetes.
Premeal Tablet should only be used in adults older than 18 years of age. Take this medicine in the exact dose and duration as prescribed by your doctor. Do not stop taking this medicine on your own.
Before starting Premeal Tablet, inform your doctor if you are pregnant/breastfeeding and about your complete medical history.
Symptoms of overdose of Premeal Tablet include low blood sugar levels, nausea, dizziness, sweating, shaking and headache. If you think you have taken too much of this medicine, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.
You should never miss your dose of blood sugar medicines as it may lead to fluctuations in your blood sugar level. However, if you missed any dose of Premeal Tablet, take it as soon as you remember. If it's time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to compensate for the missed one.
Premeal Tablet causes the pancreas to release insulin which lowers the blood sugar levels of the body.
