Prolet 50 Tablet

Prolet Tablet is an anticonvulsant or antiepileptic medication. It is used to treat and prevent seizures (fits) in people with epilepsy. Epilepsy is a neurological disorder characterized by abnormal behavior and sensations, loss of consciousness, and uncontrolled movements.

Prolet Tablet contains Primidone as its active ingredient. It acts by reducing the abnormal electrical activity of neurons in the brain. A few people develop thoughts of self-harm after taking this medicine or similar medicines.

Dosage

Overdose

Taking this medicine in excess can be dangerous as it can cause respiratory failure, coma, loss of consciousness etc. If you accidentally take more than your normal dose, contact your doctor or visit your nearest hospital.

Missed a Dose

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. Do not take a double dose of this medicine to compensate for the missed one.

Pregnancy

Can I take Prolet Tablet during pregnancy?

Prolet Tablet can lead to serious birth defects if used during pregnancy. It can cause malformations such as cleft lip and palate, abnormalities related to the heart and genitals in male babies. Therefore, you must tell your doctor if you are pregnant or trying to become pregnant.

Breast Feeding

Can I take Prolet Tablet while breastfeeding?

Primidone passes into breast milk and may make your baby sleepy. Take your doctor's advice if you are breastfeeding.

Driving

Can I drive if I have consumed Prolet Tablet?

This medicine can make you feel dizzy. It is not advised to drive after taking this medicine.

• Frequency of your seizures increases or if seizures of a different type appear.
• You develop ulcers in the mouth, throat, nose, genitals and conjunctivitis (red and swollen eyes) after taking this medicine.
• You experience any kind of rashes, blisters on your skin after taking this medicine.

• If you have a blood-related disorder called porphyria.
