Rabemac-DSR capsules are used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), a condition where stomach acid flows back into the oesophagus. This combination medicine contains rabeprazole, which reduces stomach acid production, and domperidone, which improves stomach emptying. By neutralising excess acid, Rabemac-DSR helps relieve symptoms like heartburn and stomach discomfort.
Rabemac-DSR capsules work by combining the effects of Rabeprazole and Domperidone. Rabeprazole reduces excess stomach acid by blocking the proton pump, while Domperidone improves stomach and intestinal motility, thereby preventing acid reflux into the oesophagus. The common side effects of Rabemac-DSR capsules may include headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, and diarrhoea.
These effects are usually mild and temporary, resolving on their own with time. However, consult your doctor promptly if any side effect concerns you. Since this medicine may cause dizziness or sleepiness, avoid driving, operating machinery, or doing tasks that require full attention until you know how it affects you.
It is also advisable to avoid alcohol, as it can increase drowsiness. For better results, simple lifestyle changes, such as drinking cold milk, avoiding hot tea, coffee, spicy foods, and chocolate, may help manage acidity and reflux more effectively.
