Reziz Forte 37.5/750mg is a combination medicine of Suphadoxine and Pyrimethamine to treat malaria.
If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If the next dose is approaching, skip the missing dose. Instead, use your next dose at the same time every day. Do not take two tablets at once.
Pyrimethamine belongs to a class named anti-parasitic, and it works by selectively inhibiting the plasmodial form of dihydrofolate reductase, which reduces the production of folic acid essential for nucleic acid production in the malarial parasite. Similarly, sulfadoxine also helps inhibit the enzyme dihydropteroate synthetase, an enzyme essential for the production of folic acid, which stops the malarial parasites from multiplying.
Reziz Forte tablet is unsafe during pregnancy as animal studies have shown definite evidence of abortion or foetal malformation. Therefore, it should only be used when the benefits outweigh the risk to the fetus.
Pyrimethamine is excreted in blood and should be avoided during the duration of treatment.
No studies on the effects on driving ability have been performed. However, some may experience adverse effects like dizziness or convulsions, so caution is advised.
Caution is advised when consuming alcohol with Reziz Forte tablet.
